April 2008

I was just wondering if you have ever been on a roller coaster. I remember as a kid taking that slow easy climb to the top but all of a sudden - DOWN YOU GO!!You go down and everything else goes up. Then you go up again and around. Sometimes our lives are like that. Right now we are on a wild roller coaster ride. I know the Lord is in charge and in control, as several things that you have been praying about have been realized.

Our FM in Nenana has been granted, as of yesterday April 2nd , allowing us to go on the air with FM. This allows all of our satellite/translators to be under the control of the new FM from Nenana. This also releases the permits that we have been waiting on for so long from the FCC.Now we await the FCC’s release of the other six construction permits so that we can install these translators this summer.

All of this is accelerating like a roller coaster!! It is similar to making all those tight turns and heavily pulling G’s. We are having a difficult time of securing personnel that will come, stay and work with us as part of the VFCM team. Not only here in Nenana, where we need two to three more announcers; but in Bethel, and Houston/Big Lake, Alaska, as well.

Many of you have been with us on this roller coaster ride for many years. There has been so much fun and sadness. Right now our excitement is high for the FM, but contrasted with our concern about the lack of personnel. Mainly, we would like to express our thankfulness for praying for the FM, and request your prayer for the great need for staff. Pray too that God would send us people who want to serve Him on the team bearing the burden together.

Exodus 17:11-12 tells us how Israel prevailed. Moses had Aaron and Hur on either side of him holding up his hands.". . . his hands were steady until the going down of the sun." This is what we need for you to continue to do for us.

God’s blessings to you,
Robert C. Eldridge
