March 2010
While I am not "into" sports, I can become interested in some aspects.
KIAM AM was useful to air high school basketball games for the Nenana Invitational Tournament. The ad
revenue was enough to cover the expenses which included a professional game announcer. KIAM FM continued to
run regularly scheduled programs.
While many folks were able to watch Olympic action on their televisions, listeners of our four stations (and
all of our translators) were able to hear regular Olympic updates for nearly the whole month of February. The
"More Than Gold" programs came through the same folks who produce the popular Sports Spectrum programs.
We know that some folks will listen to a sports broadcast on a station that broadcasts Christian programs
(ours) while they normally will not tune in to the regular programs. Radio is a great tool to offer the
message of salvation to all kinds of people.
Thank you for supporting Christian radio for Alaska and us folks
who help keep it on the air.
